Этот самолет установлен около школы летчиков-испытателей на территории «ЛИИ им. М.М. Громова» в г. Жуковском. Местонахождение самолета позволило сохранить его практически в первозданном виде. Представляет он собой серийный МиГ-21УМ с определенными доработками для использования в качестве ЛЛ: обтекатель кинокамеры по правому борту и  усилительные накладки на законцовках крыла (то, что видно снаружи).
